ILA Calling for Continuation of Wage Scale Meetings July 18-21, 2012 |
| 07/02/2012 |
NORTH BERGEN, NJ - ILA President Harold J. Daggett believes substantial progress was made during three days of Master Contract Wage Scale negotiations with United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) held last week and has called for continuation of talks to resume July 18-21, 2012 at the Delray Beach Marriott in Delray Beach, Florida.
Lengthy sessions between the ILA and USMX saw movement on two major issues the union considers vitally important for a successful agreement - automation and chassis pools. ILA presented all its demands and USMX gave its proposals on the first day of joint meetings last week. Both sides agreed to withhold details of their respective proposals until ILA Wage Scale delegates could present them back to their local memberships.
The ILA is hopeful that a tentative agreement can be reached during the next round of talks in late July. ILA Wage Scale delegates will receive a rate of $129.00 at the Delray Beach Marriott. The travel date for negotiations is Tuesday, July 17, 2012. When calling the Delray Beach Marriott for reservations at (561) 274-3200, please indicate that you are part of the ILA group to receive the special rate.
